Once they’ve grown, children would desire to have more freedom from parents. They may resent warnings, precautions, and mostly all that you have to say when it comes to their safety; especially when they enter the stages of puberty and adolescence. We often hear them say, “I’m a grown up now”. Although it’s true that they would need a certain degree of independence, as parents, you still have to always make sure that they are away from lurking danger. They would go out with friends or on dates. They may go to concerts and parties; they’d join in various events, sports and other organizations. In these situations they would of course meet all sorts of individuals. They may go along with people that are not necessarily known to you. It’s good if before any of their activities, you’ll check on them first. Ask who they’ll be with and where they’ll be going. Or if you get people’s names, you can have a quick look up on their California Police Records in order to determine if they are indeed safe companions for your kid.
